The purpose of this text is to demonstrate basic principles of an SD card operation on the lowest hardware level using the PIC microcontroller.
The card can be connected with MCU with different kinds of modules - see the left picture below, or with simple slot shown on the right picture. I used PIC18F24J50 MCU running on 3.3 V so there is no need to bother with different voltage levels of the card and MCU.
